Volunteer Guidelines

Confidentiality Statement

I shall respect the privacy of the people we serve and hold in confidence all information obtained in the course of my volunteer involvement, whether that information is obtained through written records or interaction with the client. I will not reveal or discuss the identity of any Tubman client I encounter during my volunteer experience.

Photography Policy
I understand to ensure confidentiality and safety of our clients, there is no photography allowed at our facilities. If you would like to have a volunteer group photo please consult with Tubman staff to discuss options.

Client Interaction Statement
I will never attempt to counsel or advise a client. If I have questions or concerns during my volunteer time I will speak with a Tubman staff member and not address the client directly.

Spirituality Statement
I am aware that Tubman’s policy on spiritual support celebrates diversity, respects individual beliefs and practices, and prohibits any expression of my beliefs that attempt to persuade or exclude another.

Youth Supervision Policy
I understand that youth under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult volunteer at all times.

Past Tubman Client
If I have received Tubman services in the recent past I will notify the Tubman staff contact to assure my scheduled volunteer activity is the best placement for my services.
