  • Tubman East, Tubman West, Tubman Chrysalis
    Help care for little ones while their parents attend counseling, support groups, or access other services. Assisting with the direct care of infants and children, Child Care Assistants implement developmentally appropriate learning opportunities and practice conflict resolution to maintain a peaceful, happy and safe atmosphere.

  • Tubman West (Minneapolis)
    Based at Tubman's Minneapolis shelter location, the Administrative Assistant is responsible for working with multiple departments across the organization, assisting with office projects including data entry, filing and tracking content, copying, and assembling materials and packets, and answering phones at the front desk.

  • Tubman East and Tubman West
    Personal Shoppers work one-on- one with community members and Tubman clients as they shop for and select casual and business-professional attire, offering a fun, personal experience and empowering support.

  • Maplewood Mall
    The NorthStar Youth Outreach Center at our Maplewood shelter location connects youth and young adults ages 13-24 of all genders, and their children, to a safe place to access basic needs, receive advocacy and resource referrals. A new location to expand the reach of services has now opened up at Maplewood Mall.

  • Maplewood Mall NorthStar Youth Outreach Center & Tubman Chrysalis Center
    The Kids in Transition Group Facilitator Volunteer is responsible for facilitating a support group for youth ages 5 to 12 or 13-17 who have experienced family violence, relationship transitions, and/or grief and loss. Groups take place in both Minneapolis and Maplewood. Minimum of one year commitment required.

  • The Legal Counseling Advocate assists clients and attorneys at legal advice clinics focusing on divorce, child custody and other family law issues. Provide services that enable individuals to better navigate the legal system and community resources. Weeknight or Friday morning availability needed.

  • Tubman East
    The Legal Services Administrative Volunteer is responsible for assisting Legal Services staff with office projects including scanning and shredding legal files, copying, and assembling materials and packets. This position is based out of Tubman East in Maplewood.

  • Tubman Chrysalis
    The Paralegal Intern assists Tubman’s legal department with projects such as drafting client correspondence and court documents, screening prospective legal clients, and administrative tasks such as filing, data entry, and research.

  • Tubman East, Tubman West, Tubman Chrysalis Center
    Resource Counseling Advocates are responsible for providing crisis intervention, supportive counseling, general information, and referral services to individuals who call or come into Tubman.

  • The Legal Counseling Advocate for Tubman’s Self-Represented Legal Clinic is responsible for assisting volunteer attorneys with providing pro se assistance and some legal services such as drafting of court documents, coaching on how to file paperwork, preparation for court appearances, etc. to low-income clients. This is a different position than a Legal Counseling Advocate.

  • Tubman Chrysalis Center or Tubman East
    The Civil Legal Advocate Intern or Volunteer is responsible for attending Order for Protection hearings in Hennepin, Ramsey, or Washington County, assisting with the writing and filing of Orders for Protection at Tubman, and completing necessary tasks for trial preparation. Must have personal transportation.

  • Tubman East (Maplewood)
    Youth Worker Interns provide in-home/in-community case management, advocacy, safety planning, goal planning, and connections to resources to youth and young adults of all genders and their children (if they are parenting). Youth served live throughout the metro area and have experienced (or are at risk of experiencing) relationship violence, sexual assault or exploitation, stalking, and homelessness. This position will be based at Tubman East, though will meet with clients around the Metro Area. Must have personal transportation.

  • Tubman East, Tubman West
    Collaborating with staff to support youth whose families have experienced violence, sexual assault, exploitation, stalking, and/or harassment, our Youth and Family Advocates are responsible for providing individualized supportive services and comprehensive advocacy to children, youth, and families currently living at Tubman’s shelters and Transitional Housing.
