Self-Represented Legal Clinics

Self- Represented Legal Clinics

This service helps low-income individuals represent themselves in family law cases including divorce or child custody cases. Volunteer attorneys will write court documents, give legal advice, and help clients get ready for mediation, court conferences, and court hearings. However, volunteer attorneys only help clients handle their own case. Attorneys do not go to court or meet with the other side. Self-representation clinics cost $15.00 if you pay in advance or $20.00 if you pay at the door. It is free for low-income individuals to attend. Call 612.870.2400 for more information about Tubman’s Self-Represented Legal Clinics.

Note: Due to COVID-19, clinics are being held over the phone and the fee is temporarily waived.
